Honoring Anna-Lisa Adelberg — A Beacon of Love, Wisdom, and Awakening
Dearest Luminous Community,
It is with tender hearts that we share the passing of our beloved teacher and founder, Anna-Lisa Adelberg, on September 24, 2025.
Anna-Lisa was a beloved teacher, friend, sister, daughter, and mentor to many. After walking her final months with love and dignity, she has come to the completion of her life’s journey following a diagnosis of inoperable cancer, which she had been courageously navigating for several years.
Anna-Lisa was a heartfelt guide, a beacon of wisdom, compassion, and awakened awareness, who transformed the lives of thousands. She founded the Luminous Awareness Institute as an offering of love to the world: a sacred path of awakening, healing, community, and remembering our true nature.
Through her visionary teaching and radiant presence, Anna-Lisa touched hearts across the globe. She brought together the profound and the practical, the mystical and the human, offering a unique transmission of nondual awareness, energy healing, and deep emotional integration that has left an indelible mark on all who were blessed to learn from her.
She was also a deeply loyal and loving friend and family member—fiercely devoted to those in her close circle.
As we step into this new chapter, we carry forward the gifts of her legacy. Anna-Lisa often spoke of how we all have our seat within the sacred mandala, where everyone is interwoven and supports one another’s awakening and healing, and radiates the universal Luminous teachings into the world through our presence, practice, and love.
We recognize this moment may bring waves of grief, gratitude, and reflection. Together, we will honor her life and vision by carrying forward the work to which she devoted herself with such care.
May Anna-Lisa’s teachings continue to live in our hearts, guiding us toward the path of interconnectedness, healing, awareness and the luminous truth which she embodied so radiantly.

A Ceremony for Anna-Lisa Adelberg
This ceremony was held at the time of Anna-Lisa's transition by Khedrup Rinpoche, at the Sangchen Ogyen Tsuklag Monastery in Bhutan, September 24, 2025.
Luminous has been blessed to have a connection to Khedrup Rinpoche and his monastery and community in Bhutan. We are deeply honored by this share.

Anna-Lisa's Bio:
Anna-Lisa Adelberg was an internationally renowned teacher, and healer. She was the founder of the Luminous Awareness Institute and has supported thousands of students and clients on the path of awakening.
She was a pioneer in integrating a contemporary nondual path with a healing path. At Luminous Awareness Institute, she developed and taught a groundbreaking system, synthesized over 25 years, that supports the realization of the essential being of who we already are, with practices and inner technologies from a wide variety of sources; Tibetan Buddhism, developmental psychology, neurophysiology, Chi Gong, and subtle energy.
She was a personal student of Chi Qong Master Yoo and studied with Dzogchen Master Lama Tharchin Rinpoche and, as well other teachers in Meditative paths, Somatics, and Subtle Energy.
Anna-Lisa Adelberg was well known for her capacity to articulate and transmit about awareness, the mechanics of subtle phenomena and her uncanny ability to, as her students say, "know what's going on inside of me." She was sought after and guided some of the world's most renowned leaders, healers, and spiritual teachers.
She was dedicated to creating a world of wakefulness, attunement, care, and liberation for all beings.
