Luminous Awareness Institute and Integral Zen present:
Shining Light into the Shadows

With Anna-Lisa Adelberg and Doshin Roshi

July 26-28, 2019
(Friday evening, all day Saturday & Sunday)

Heal your blind spots and challenge your invisible assumptions!

Please join us for this adventurous weekend workshop with Zen Master Doshin Roshi & acclaimed healer & teacher Anna-Lisa Adelberg, where we will use multiple approaches to explore the fascinating realm of Shadow Work.

We will combine the Zen tradition’s powerful gift of cutting through delusion with Luminous’s unique quality of attunement and warm embrace, to dive into the subtle and interconnected dimensions of our beings.

After opening our hearts with meditation, we will learn to illuminate our ego structures and explore our individual and collective shadows from pure selfless awareness. From here it is then possible to restore healthy balance to our lives by bearing witness to what is, and simply allowing things to be exactly as they are.

View a video with Doshin Roshi and read more details below!

In this workshop, you will:

  • Learn how to reclaim the emotions you’ve suppressed
  • Integrate the sub-personalities you’ve disowned, learning practical tools for illuminating ego structures & blind spots
  • Participate in and connect with the natural healing energies that lie at the heart of all creation
  • Learn methods to experience profound glimpses into the deepest truth of who we really are

If you think you are experienced in shadow work, get really curious! What would integrating your shadows look like without our individual and collective opinions, beliefs, values, biases, and prejudices, and without the attractions & aversions of the ego mind?

Come learn how to let your body, your emotions (likes and dislikes), your thoughts (opinions and beliefs), your dreams, and especially your conflicts, inform and liberate you. Learn to differentiate between your disowned selves (shadows) and your undeveloped selves (golden shadows).

About the Teachers

Anna-Lisa Adelberg is a recognized healer, spiritual teacher, and co-founder of the Luminous Awareness Institute, which offers students an awakening and healing path synthesized from Tibetan Buddhism, developmental psychology, neurophysiology, and subtle energy. Her work integrates both psychological and subtle energy work, to ensure that awakening is embodied into our human life and human emotions. She holds a humanistic approach to the character structures which embraces the knowing that we are each intrinsically already good, whole, and complete.

Doshin Daigu Michael Nelson Roshi is the founder and abbot of Integral Zen.  He started meditating and studying Zen in the late 60's, but without the guidance of a good teacher, he was confused and discouraged by the obscurity of Zen teachings.  In earnest, he began studying other meditative practices and martial arts, which were difficult but less obscure.  It wasn't until he met Zen Master Jun Po Kelly Roshi that the disciplined practice and eloquent simplicity of Zen suddenly took root and began to penetrate the dense clouds of his stubborn conditioned mind, revealing the ordinary, openness of vast empty sky.  About the same time, Doshin also began reading Ken Wilber and studying directly with him. Integral Zen was born.

Doshin is a poet, teacher, and troublemaker – a Zen Master of no rank.  He is the founder of Integral Zen and the Poetry of Dying Project, which uses the mirror of death to point to the essence of life.  Doshin worked directly with JunPo as he first released and then developed the Process of Mondo Zen. Doshin uses several similar practice methods, which he calls “Wu Technologies” to initiate curious seekers into a direct experience, a glimpse of the deepest truth of who we are – pure selfless awareness unpolluted by the perceptual illusion of self and the perpetual delusions of conditioned ego mind.
