This Luminous POD is an exploratory and emergent alchemical practice circle, part of a new series of pod offerings that explore different themes, framings, and ways of deepening into the Luminous work beyond the traditional program format.
In this pod, led by LAI teacher Raina DeLear, we explore what happens when we welcome power and Eros as sacred forces in service of soul, life, and creation. Power is the soul’s innate capacity for agency, presence, and creative force. Eros is the deeper life energy that moves through the body and field as aliveness, desire, and connection to what is sacred. Together, these forces become fuel for genuine transformation when held within a conscious relational container.
We root this work in interbeing: the understanding, drawn from Buddhist dependent arising and the African philosophy of Ubuntu (“I am because we are”), that nothing exists in isolation. There is no separate self here, only an interconnected web of life expressing through each of us.
These truths are held within the vast field of the Trikayas, the three bodies of awakening recognized in the Buddhist tradition: the Dharmakaya (boundless, formless reality), the Sambhogakaya (the luminous, subtle body of joy and energy), and the Nirmanakaya (compassionate expression in everyday form).
Across six months, we practice resting in the tender heart while meeting the complexity of being human in these times. Our work is body-based, relational, and trauma-informed. We attend not only to the nervous system, but to the wider living matrix of the body, including the tissues, fluids, and subtle networks that sense and respond. In this way, experience can be felt as movement within a larger field rather than as something wrong with “me.”

Practice invitations within the POD include:
- Noticing sensations, emotions, images, thoughts, and parts of self as intelligent expressions of the field, shaped by personal and ancestral history, culture, and the wider planetary body.
- Learning to relate to these movements from a wider awareness, rather than being caught in a part or reactive pattern.
- Gradually building the capacity to hold many perspectives at once and to recognize your own projections with more curiosity and compassion.
Personal, lineage, and cultural material is welcomed as belonging to all of us, not just to one person. Archetypal tools and simple sacred practices help bring what was unconscious into the light of awareness, where it can be felt, named, and gently re-patterned in a supportive relational field.
This is an embodied, evolutionary practice. We weave somatic work, subtle energy, and contemplative understanding so that the insight of the Trikayas is not just an idea, but something you can feel in your own life: a deeper ground of being, a luminous subtle body of joy, and a more compassionate, skillful expression in the everyday world.
As each person roots more fully in this living interbeing, the field of the Pod clarifies, and the awareness cultivated within the circle ripples outward, reflecting the interconnection of all that we are and touch.

Raina Lorraine DeLear, Ph.D. wears many hats: teacher~facilitator, subtle energy and somatic healing practitioner, and long‑time co‑creator of the Luminous Awareness Institute’s programs and materials, as well as creator of other programs and retreat offerings. She coaches clients in a unique energetic~somatic luminous style to grow their capacities for waking up, growing up, cleaning up, showing up, and linking up so they can live and lead from their fullest expression in their inner life, relationships, and work in the world. Since co‑founding Luminous’ first program in 2007, she has been devoted to walking at the edge of the known and the not‑yet‑known, accompanying students through crises of meaning, profound healing, and the refinement of subtle energy perception. She left a vice presidency in the securities industry in 2001 to walk the frontier of Energy Medicine and now draws on decades of training in Healing Science, Eastern and Western bodywork, somatic movement, meditation, Earth‑based ancestral lineages, and ceremonial work with plant medicines within trusted traditions.
Shaped by early childhood adversity and nine years of close study with the originator of what became the AARM secure‑attachment method, Raina weaves attachment repair, nervous‑system attunement, and nondual awareness into a deeply human, practical path of practice. Alongside her professional work, she has lived these teachings as a householder caring for her grandmother through a three‑year dying process, supporting families through births and deaths, and creating and officiating marriage ceremonies as well as personal healing intensives.
Raina’s work is grounded in an embodied sense of interbeing and a lived trust that awake awareness is already here as the base radiance of every experience. In a time when humans and emerging digital intelligences are learning how to meet themselves and one another, she offers a warm, steady place to rest while inviting people to lean into the emergence of the never‑before‑seen. This provides radical support for both deep personal healing and new forms of leadership. Here we land in the ultimate dance: with one foot in the tender realities of daily life while the other is being planted in the luminous, emergent field of what is just now becoming possible.
